ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR THE WEEK OF MAY 31 - JUNE 7

June 7 is the Last Sunday for Sunday School Classes

Students will have the opportunity to learn Scandinavian dances for the Midsummer Festival in the Sunday School classrooms from 10-11:30 on June 14 and 21.

Midsummer Festival Coming Up

June 28 is the annual fundraiser for Youth Ministries.  Festivities include dinner and Scandinavian dancing and singing in the Parish Hall from 5-8pm.

Brian McKinlay to Attend General Convention

All Saints is fortunate to send one of our young adults to General Convention in July.  Your help with the expenses will be appreciated – more information about that to come.  Meanwhile, for information, ask David Campion (number and email below).

Quilt Raffle to take place at Midsummer Festival, June 28

Tickets for the quilt raffle are on sale now.  The drawing for the raffle will take place on the evening of Sunday, June 28th, at the Midsummer Festival.

Save your Stamps

Stop throwing away your used postage stamps!  When you open your mail, keep the envelopes (except “forever” stamps) and bring them to All Saints on Sundays to put in a box in the narthex.  This is to support a youth group service project.

Bible Day Camp Sign-ups are taken now

Registration has begun for Bible Day Camp, scheduled to take place July 20th-24th at All Saints.  The cost is forty dollars for kids going into grades K-6th and twenty dollars for Pre-K participants (4 & 5 year-olds).  If you have questions, contact David Champion, 971-340-0941 or modernherodotus@hotmail.com.

Rosalie Grafe to Present

June 11 at 6:30pm, publisher Rosalie Grafe will be reading from a WWI memoir by the first Chair of the Portland State English Department, Carl E.W.L. Dahlstrom (1897-1980) in the All Saints chapel. Sent to Hell from Ann Arbor: A College Student's World War One by Carl E.W.L. Dahlstrom, Quaker Abbey Press,LLC, 216 pages with index, $16.95. See the slide show of the beginnings of the Swedish-American family in Michigan and then of the college junior who took leave from the University of Michigan to serve in a Motor Supply Truck convoy taking ammunition shells to the frontline batteries and wounded back to the field hospitals at the Battle of St. Mihiel and on the Meuse-Argonne.

Awesome Autumn Auction 2009

Presiding Bishop Schori to visit Oregon

Presiding Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori will be the keynote speaker at the conference on Baptismal Ministry to be held at Trinity Cathedral on Saturday, June 6.  Registration information is available on the Parish Hall bulletin board.

Ongoing Ink Cartridge and Cell Phone Recycling

The Refugee Immigration Ministry (RIM) in the Episcopal Diocese of Massachusetts collects discarded cell phones and ink cartridges.  For your convenience there is a collection box in the narthex.  This is an ongoing program, so think of the church whenever you turn over ink cartridges or cell phones.
